Overview
In the U.K., when a parent notices signs of reading difficulty or other dyslexia symptoms in their child, they are faced with two options. One is a complicated road to NHS appointments, which can take years, or going to a private healthcare specialist, which is often expensive. Talamo provides scientifically accurate online dyslexia screening tests at a low price. Testing for dyslexia young unlocks access to the proper support and guidance for a child to thrive in school and life. A service that has the potential to change the lives of children, Talamo needed a brand identity to help gain funding and successfully launch into the market.
Finished product
It was essential to the founders that we prioritise de-stigmatising neurodiversity in applications of their brand, as opposed to sticking to the more clinical-authority-driven products currently on the market. There was also a balance between recognising that diagnosis may not be a positive experience for everyone and delivering an underlying feeling of empowerment. Some members of the Shoreditch Design team have diagnoses of dyslexia or other learning difficulties, so we understood their mission on a personal level and felt passionate about getting their message across.
