Aviva is the United Kingdom's largest general insurance company and leading life and pensions provider. They offer insurance and investment for individuals and businesses, including health, car, life and home insurance. Aviva's key value is supporting its users, from investment advice to savings calculators. This year, we have been working with them on multiple digital product needs across their website and mobile app offerings.
Our design thinking
In a broad set of projects for Aviva, we have been tasked with the following. Redesigning existing flows using new Aviva design systems and frameworks. Rethinking their investment account sign-up flows from the ground up with a mobile-first approach. Running multiple fast-paced (weekly) experiments to help their innovation team pick out new digital products for the future.
Like with most large corporates, Aviva already has a fully functional design + product development team, so our job was to plug straight into their existing ways of working at speed. This way of working is something that we embrace at Shoreditch, as it integrates our designers into a company's existing structure. We were brought in to assist their existing teams whilst they hire more designers or to fill the immediate need for short-term projects. The benefit of using external providers like Shoreditch for projects like these is that we can move extremely fast and aren't tied down by big corp bureaucracy.
Across several projects, our main aim has been to increase conversion, whether sign-ups or sales. Thorough user testing sessions have ensured that our design work leads to the intended user response.
