Mosaic is a new fashion block kid specialising in classic men's trousers. They are in the initial phases of their brand and came to us looking for the foundational elements of a brand to help establish their identity. The brief was for a timeless and classic logo and wordmark that immediately invoked a sense of luxury and quality.
Our design thinking
One of the client's requests was to evoke the Nostalgia and calm ambience of the Almafi coast. Their brand ethos is that "it's easier to be yourself when you're relaxed".
We used the symbolism behind their name as the base inspiration for our visuals. Mosaics are a unique blend of art and home décor prominent during antiquity in the Mediterranean and North African regions. Their decorative and vibrant stone and glass tiles came together to tell stories of life, spirituality and beauty. Roman mosaics served as a backdrop to opulent times as a symbol of wealth and status.
The team worked to develop a classic serifed wordmark with timeless appeal. We developed that sense of relaxation and luxury through a palette influenced by lounging in the sun on the Med, with vibrant orange and sea foam blue as primary colours.
We created a strong logo icon and word mark with a set of colour, imagery and logo guidelines. We helped the founders visualise their brand coming to fruition through a series of mock-ups which provide a strong vision of how these guidelines could be used to make a strong impact in the fashion world.
